Aromatherapy A Scent Away for Great Relationships

Is it possible that a scent can make you more mellow and increase dramatically the relation with you and your mate? Can you calm the kids down instantly? Do you wish that you would feel and look more in control for the big meeting? Thousands of people around the world have discovered the powerful benefits of Aromatherapy. And you can do it to.

With the stress involve in our way of living today, we get psychological and physiological consequences to our fragile health. We spend more of our hard earned money on over-the-counter medication or on prescriptions to help cure our little and bigger pains.

The power of Aromatherapy could help you lead to a better outlook of life And keep more money in your pocket.

But what is Aromatherapy exactly?

Aromatherapy is the art and practice of using essential oils extracted from aromatic plants and herbs to restore or enhance health, beauty and well being. Aromatic molecules interact with the tops of your nasal cavity and gives the signal to the limbic system (the emotional switchboard of the brain). The limbic system is directly connected to the part that controls the heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, memory, stress level and hormone balance.

And it works. For example, we use Vicks for our colds, sinusitis and sore throat. It contains Eucalyptus. For me, it’s the only treatment that I find effective for Bronchitis, despite antibiotics treatment.

Let’s talk about Lavender. Lavender is multi use oil; it has strong psychological effects and physiological cures.

We find Lavender in the France. That flower has a fresh, sweet, floral scent. It has calming effect; smell it when you are stressed in the traffic, or at work, or right before an exam because Lavender has calming proprieties for panic attacks, stress, anxiety and even depression! It’s a gentle narcotic for mental and physical strain.

Some couples use Lavender base candles during giving birth to have the most calming experience, for the mother and for the new born. Other people burn a candle on a regular basis, after a surgery to help cope with the pain. You can also do it to calm the kids in the house! Or, for an anticipated quiet night at home with you lover…

Lavender is a good antibiotic for the skin. If your child has cuts and burnings, you can apply creams or lotion with enough concentration of the oil to prevent infection. It also reduces scaring.

Another good aromatic oil is Rosewood. It origins from a native tree in Brazil. It has a psychological effect of balancing, uplifting and enliving. You can use it before an interview, or a business meeting, or even before a hot date! If you are feeling down or lack of “joie-de-vivre” this aromatic essence can change your state of mind and make you look like an enjoyable person (save on alcohol or drugs here!).

Rosewood is also good to treat sensitive of aged skin, because it stimulates the regeneration of the skin.

You can use Aromatherapy in different forms; candles, shower gels, soap, bath mousse, diffuser, potpourri, spray for the room, etc… whatever you feel comfortable with. There is a good selection on www.quixtar.com - IBO #3378953 There are 4 lines of products: FloraCalm, PureForest, Vitafruits and AquaSpa.

You can use aromatherapy for different emotional well-being; you can treat anger, anxiety, confidence, depression, burnout, loneliness, concentration, etc…

With all the chemicals that float in the air, in the water and in our food, those can produce chemical imbalance in the brain and change our moods and alter the relation that we have with the people in our lives.

The use of aromatic products is a cheap solutions for better health and an happier life.

All those aromatic products can help you have better relationship with your mate (or the opposite sex), with your business associates, at social events, in your home, etc…. to be able to obtain more out of life because of the uplifting attitude that you’ll get. Be careful of buying too cheap; make sure that you are buying quality products with enough concentration to get the beneficial effects.

Wishing you great moments!

Verbena Pure Essential Oil

While the lemon verbena is native to South America, the Spaniards introduced this shrub to Europe in the eighteenth century. The Spaniards were growing it for the perfume oil scent. Today, this aromatic plant is cultivated for its leaves and ornamental appeal. Due to the inefficient process of extracting the oil from its leaves, the cost of verbena oil is relatively expen ve. Because of this expense, verbena pure essential oil is rarely used in bath products, such as bath salts and bath soaps. It is mainly used in top of the line, high quality, and expensive perfumes.

The therapeutic properties of verbena pure essential oil help to ease exhaustion, relieve anxiety, and boost concentration. The main constituents in verbena essential oil are limonene, geraniole, cineole, and citral, which is up to 26% of the oil itself. These constituents give lemon verbena a very strong antibacterial, antiseptic, and antispasmodic effects.

Here is an extra tip. If you are looking to purchase pure verbena essential oil, be careful to ensure it is pure. Due to the expensive nature of this oil, it is often found stretched, or diluted, with the less expensive lemongrass oil, which of course will greatly diminish the therapeutic properties of the oil. You can buy the stretched verbena oil, just do not pay for the price of pure verbena oil.

One of the major conditions verbena pure essential oil can help with is insomnia. Verbena helps to promote relaxation. It is this effect, which is useful for easing stress related sleep disorders. All you need to do is add 3 drops each of verbena and lavender oil to your bedside diffuser. Then it’s lights out!

Like many of the citrus oils out there, verbena is a great room freshener. Mix 10 drops of verbena oil with 2 ounces of water, preferably distilled if you have some, and store in a spray bottle. Then just spray around the house, and even on sheets and pillows to help remove the stale odors.

If you are pregnant, this oil should be used with caution. Midwives to start, or trigger, contractions, once relied upon verbena essential oil. This oil is still associated with uterine muscle stimulation. Some also believe this oil will increase a woman’s stamina, which is well needed, during delivery. Just be sure to take precautions and do your research before using this oil if you are pregnant.

Also, verbena essential oil may irritate the skin. Even when the oil is diluted with a carrier oil, such as safflower oil, there may still be some irritations due to the sensitivity of your skin. Before applying a mixture of verbena and a carrier oil, apply it to small spot on your skin to see of irritations will occur. If not, massage away, but, as always, use this oil with caution.

Due to the expensive nature of verbena pure essential oil, you may never have the chance to experience the true therapeutic properties but, you can still enjoy the aroma of this oil with some of the expensive perfumes. Just ask if verbena oil is one of the oils in the perfume. You can also enjoy the aroma by using one of the “stretched” blends, which is still somewhat beneficial.

An Introduction To Perfumes And Colognes

The word perfume is from a Latin phrase meaning “through smoke” and was thought to have been invented by the ancient Egyptians who burned fragrant woods and plants for their pleasant odors. Over the years perfume has been used, refined and enhanced by every major civilization and today perfume as we know it is a very big business.

Today’s modern perfume has three main components:

The scent - Virtually anything natural or synthetic that has an odor can be used in the making of perfume. Typically scents are made from flowers, citrus, spices, woods and sometimes even leather.

The fixative - These ingredients act to stabilize the aromatic compound and help to make the scent last longer.

The solvent - This is usually alcohol and keeps bacteria from forming and helps maintain an even consistency so it can be easily applied.

The category a fragrance belongs to is defined by how much of the scent (or aromatic compound) is used in the product. This also plays a factor in determining the price as the higher the concentration of scent the more expensive the fragrance will be:

Lotions and aftershaves generally have a 1 to 2% scent base

Eau de Cologne products are generally 2 to 3% pure scent

Eau de Toilettes run between 5 to 20% scent

Eau de Parfums will have from 10 to 30% aromatic compound in them

Perfume Extract or Parfum has the greatest concentration of scent, between 20 and 40%

Women’s products are usually categorized as perfume, eau de parfum, toilet water, and cologne and for men’s products are sold as perfume, cologne, and aftershave.

Surprisingly fragrances and music share a common term, notes. Perfumes are often described by the different “notes” that make up the scent. These notes are designed to emerge at different times during the scent span of a fragrance just as an orchestra will have different instruments playing throughout a musical composition.

Top Notes are the strongest scents but do not last very long. This is the initial burst of smell you get when you first take a sniff of your favorite perfume or cologne. The top notes are often spice or citrus based.

Middle (or heart notes) makes up the main part of the scent that emerges after the top notes start to fade away and are usually softer and mellower than the initial scent. These scents are usually floral in nature.

Bass notes form the foundation of the scent and are usually deep and musky in nature and emerge to blend with the middle notes not to replace them.

Fragrances are very complex products that go through many stages of development before reaching the consumer. There are tens of thousands of different perfumes and colognes available today, each one having its own unique scent signature and what once was reserved for the wealthy and privileged is now available to everyone.
